The Sabers season began with a bang as they shutout Park 11-0 behind the 3 hit pitching of senior Nick Evert. Evert was flawless as he struck out 12 and did not walk a batter. All 16 players played as the Sabers pounded out 14 hits. Sophomore Joe Turco and senior Spenser Kent led the attack with 3 hits each. Kent also knocked in 2 runs as did junior Brett Spaulding. Senior Matt Devinger and Junior catcher Bryce Miller chipped in with 2 hits each.

The Sabers scored in 4 of the 5 innings played as they pounded out 12 hits. Matt Devinger, Mitch Alba, and Bryce Miller had multiple hit games. Senior Ryan Keesler picked up hit first win of the season with 4 shutout innings and 8 strikeouts.

Franklin 14 Racine Park 0
Once again Park was no match for the Sabers as they won their home opener 14-0. Spenser Kent was the hitting star with 3 hits including a double and a triple, and 6 RBI'S. Mitch Alba and Nick Aide chipped in with 2 hits each. Ryan Segebrecht picked up the win on the mound allowing only 1 hit while striking out 4 over 4 innings. Junior Tyler Strausbaugh saw his first action on the mound. He struck out the sides in the 5th. In the 3 game series the Sabers outscored Park 38-0.

Franklin 4 Muskego 2
The Sabers knocked off a top 10 ranked team in a non-conference game at Muskego on Saturday. Saber pitchers Mitch Alba, Matt Devinger, and Nick Evert struck out a combined 14 Warriors. Alba picked up the win with 4 shutout innings, and Evert picked up his first save with 2 scoreless innings in relief. Key hits by Brett Spaulding, Devinger, Bryce Miller, and sophomore Joe Turco helped the Sabers secure the win. Turco led the Sabers with 2 hits and an RBI. Outstanding defensive plays were turned in by seniors Kian Dillon and Spenser Kent.

Franklin 4 Racine Case 3 (10 Innings)
The Sabers won in dramatic fashion when senior Kian Dillon drove in Brett Spaulding,who had beat out an infield hit, with a sharp single to right in the bottom of the 10th inning. Dillon also drove in an earlier run with a sacrifice fly. Spenser Kent, Spaulding, Lucas Nichols, Joe Turco, and Nick Aide all had multiple hit games. Ryan Keesler and Ryan Segebrecht turned in strong performances on the mound combining for 14 strikeouts. Segebrecht was particularly effective limiting the Eagles to 2 hits and striking out 9 in 6 innings of work. He picked up his second win of the young season. The Sabers played error less ball for the third time this season.

Franklin 18 Racine Case 3
The Sabers banged out 13 hits and completely dominated the Eagles 18-3. Matt Devinger had a big game with 2 hits, including the team's first home run of the season. He also clubbed a double and drove in a team high 5 runs. Ryan Segebrecht had his best game of the young season with 3 hits and 2 RBI'S. Catcher Bryce Miller knocked in 2 runs with a single and double. Sophomore Joe Turco started and picked up the win. Junior Tyler Strausbaugh pitched two scoreless innings striking out 3.

Franklin 8 Racine Case 1
The Sabers completed the three game sweep of the Eagles with a convincing 8-1 score. Junior Mitch Alba picked up his second win of the season striking out 9 in the five inning contest. He also was involved in two outstanding defensive plays. Sophomore Joe Turco led the hitting attack with a 3-3 performance, including 2 doubles and an RBI. Bryce Miller and Ryan Segebrecht chipped in with 2 hits each. Segebrecht also drove in two runs. For the fourth time in the seven games played, the Sabers played error less ball.

Despite pounding out 12 hits, the Sabers fell for the first time this year. Failure to execute the little things contributed to a 5 run 4th inning for the Knights. Junior Mitch Alba led the hitting attack with a 3-3 performance. Senior Spenser Kent and junior Ethan DeClark collected 2 hits each. DeClark also knocked in 3 runs. Matt Devinger and Joe Turco pitched well in relief. In 3 and two thirds innings they allowed no runs, only 2 hits, 0 walks and struck out 4.

Franklin 5 Oak Creek 6
For the second night in a row the Knights scored 5 times in the 4th inning to edge the Sabers 6-5. Leading 4-0 after 3 innings on the strength of a solo homer by sophomore Joe Turco and an RBI single by senior Spenser Kent, the roof caved in on the Sabers as the Knights scored 5 times on only 2 hits. The Knights struck out 14 times, but took advantage of walks, hit batsmen, and wild pitches to push across the 5 runs. The Sabers outhit the Knights led by Joe Turco's 2 hits. Ryan Keesler pitched well in relief striking out 5 in 3 innings of work.

Franklin 6 South Milwaukee 1
The Sabers made the most of their 5 hits in the wood bat game at South Milwaukee scoring 3 big runs in the 7th to secure the win. Max Alba and Spenser Kent delivered RBI hits in the 7th. Kent led the team with 2 hits and 3 RBI'S; Alba also drove in 3. Nick Evert, Joe Turco, Mitch Alba, and Tyler Strausbaugh combined to strike out 7 batters while walking only 1.

Franklin 1 Westosha Central 6
Central pitchers limited the Sabers to only 1 hit, a 5th inning double by senior Matt Devinger. The Sabers struck out a season high 7 times, and committed a season high 4 errors. The Sabers fell behind 5-0 after 2 innings and were never able to get on track offensively. Matt Devinger and Ryan Segebrecht pitched well in relief.

Franklin 0 Kenosha Bradford 1 (8 innings)
The Sabers came up on the short end of an outstanding high school baseball game. The Sabers missed a golden opportunity to score when they loaded the bases with 3 hits in the first inning. Bradford turned a double play to end the threat. The Sabers outhit Bradford 6 -3. Mitch Alba pitched well striking out 6 in 7 innings of work. Matt Devinger collected 2 hits and made several sparkling plays from his shortstop position. He totaled 8 assists for the game. Bryce Miller also collected 2 hits for the Sabers.

Franklin 4 Kenosha Bradford 0
The Sabers reversed the outcome and shutout Bradford in the nite cap of the double header. The story of this game was the 3 hit pitching of Junior Ryan Keesler who struck out 11 in 6.2 innings. Matt Devinger and Kian Dillon had key RBi's for the Sabers who climbed back into second place with the win, one game behind Bradford.

Down 10-2 after 2 1/2 innings, the Sabers scored 6 runs in the third inning highlighted by Matt Devinger's second home run of the season to get back with in striking distance. But Franklin's pitchers continued to struggle allowing 10 runs in the last 3 innings. Saber pitchers needed 199 pitches to record the 21 outs. Matt Devinger, Spenser Kent, Mitch Alba, and Brett Spaulding all had multiple hit games. Alba hit his first home run, a towering 2 run shot in the second inning to start the scoring for the Sabers.

The Sabers recorded their 5th shutout of the season with a 6-0 triumph over Indian Trail. The Sabers were led by sophomore pitcher Joe Turco who pitched a complete game, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 9. Junior catcher Bryce Miller capped a 5 run sixth inning with his first home run of the season, a 3 run blast to left center to put the Sabers up 5-0. They added a run when junior Ethan DeClark singled in junior Brett Spaulding who had doubled. Spenser Kent and Mitch Alba each collected two hits.

Fifteen players played as the Sabers defeated Indian Trail for the second day in a row. Ryan Keesler pitched a complete game allowing only 3 hits, no walks, and 7 strikeouts. Spenser Kent, Mitch Alba, and Ryan Segebrecht led the hitting with 2 hits each. Kent also drove in 2.

Franklin 5 Kenosha Indian Trail 1
Trailing 1-0 after 3 innings, the Sabers finally scored in the fourth on a 2 run double by Brett Spaulding, his team leading 6th double of the year. The Sabers scored 3 more in the 6th, one on a lead off homer by Spenser Kent, his first. The other 2 runs scored on Bryce Miller's 2 run homer, his second home run in the last 3 games. Nick Evert, Ryan Segebrecht, and Matt Devinger pitched scoreless innings, with Evert picking up his 3rd win of the season.

Franklin 5 Kenosha Bradford 1
Led by the 4 hit pitching of senior Ryan Keesler, the Sabers beat Bradford for the second time in three meetings. The win moved the Sabers into a tie with Bradford for the conference lead. It was Keesler's second win over Bradford. He struck out 7. Spenser Kent led the 12 hit attack with 3 hits and 3 RBI'S. Mitch Alba Joe Turco, and Lucas Nichols each collected 2 hits. Ryan Segebrecht started the scoring with a clutch single scoring BreTt Spaulding who had doubled in the second inning. The Sabers made no errors for the 6th time this season.

Franklin 2 Racine Horlick 1
The Sabers escaped with a 1 run decision against a very determined Rebels team. Failure to come up with a clutch hit hurt the Sabers who left 10 men on base. The Sabers had base runners on in every inning. Mitch Alba and Joe Turco struck out 11 batters between them, but they also walked 7 and hit a batter. The Sabers escaped defeat when Joe Turco struck out the final 2 batters of the game with the bases loaded.

The Sabers bounced back nicely on "Senior Night" when they 10 run ruled the Rebels at home. Senior pitcher Nick Evert allowed 1 run, 2 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 2. He also retired the last 12 batters of the game. Matt Devinger, Bryce Miller, and Nick Aide led the 11 hit attack with 2 hits each. Miller also drove in 2. The game was halted in the bottom of the 5th when Spenser Kent hit a 2 run walk off homer, his second of the season. He also drove in 4 runs for the Sabers who played error less ball in the field.

Franklin 12 Racine Horlick 2
The Sabers completed the three game sweep of the Rebels with a convincing 12- 2 victory. Ryan Segebrecht and Ethan DeClark drove in 3 runs each, while Spenser Kent and Nick Aide drove in 2. Mitch Alba pitched in with 2 hits and an RBI. The Sabers walked nine times and scored in 4 of the 5 innings played. Joe Turco and Tyler Strausbaugh held the Rebels to no earned runs.

The Sabers scored a convincing win against a good Greedale team in a non-conference match up of 2 of the best teams in the area. The Sabers scored single runs in each of the first 3 innings. Greendale tied the score in the third on 2 hits and 3 walks. The Sabers took the lead for good in the 4th inning on an RBI single by Joe Turco. The Sabers scored 3 more runs in the 4th. They followed that with a 4 run 5th highlighted by Mitch Alba's 2 run homer, his second homerun of the season. Alba collected 2 hits and drove in 3 runs. Spenser Kent knocked in 2, and seniors Lucas Nichols and Ryan Segebrecht each collected 2 hits. Nick Evert picked up his 5th win of the season in relief of Segebrecht who pitched 3 strong innings.

Franklin 7 Kenosha Tremper 5
The Sabers had to come from behind to win this one. Trailing 5-1 after 4 innings, the Sabers picked up run number 2 on an RBI single by sophomore Joe Turco. Lucas Nichols led off the 6th with a double. Ethan DeClark followed with a single to put runners at second and third following an errant throw by the right fielder. Nick Aide's sacrifice fly led to run number 3. Spenser Kent followed with a run scoring double. He then stoled third and scored the tying run on a double by Bryce Miller. Brett Spaulding then hit a two run homer to put the Sabers ahead for good. It was Spaulding's third RBI of the game. Ryan Keesler started on the mound and struck out 10 batters in 4.2 innings. Tyler Strausbaugh came on for the final 2.1 innings and struck out 3 to record his first varsity win.

Franklin 9 Kenosha Tremper 6
The Sabers found themselves trailing Tremper again by a 4-2 score after 4 innings. However, the offense came to life in the 5th with 3 runs to take a 5-4 lead. The Sabers scored 2 runs on wild pitches. The third run scored on an RBI single by Brett Spaulding. The Sabers added 4 runs in the 7th on consecutive RBI hits by Miller, Spaulding and Joe Turco. Brett Spaulding led the 9 hit attack with 2 hits and 2 RBI'S. Ryan Segebrecht picked up the win with 5 excellent innings of relief pitching.

Franklin 5 Kenosha Tremper 8
Tremper scored all their runs in the 5th inning stopping the Sabers win streak at 10 games. Joe Turco led the offense with 2 hits, including his second home run of the season. Spenser Kent chipped in with 2 RBI'S. The Sabers managed only 6 hits and walked a season high 7 batters.

Franklin 0 Oak Creek 4
Despite getting only 3 hits, the Knights knocked off the Sabers agin 4-0. It was only the second time the Sabers were held scoreless all season. Mental and physical errors contributed to the loss. The loss means the Sabers finished the conference season in third place, despite knocking off conference champion Bradford twice.

Franklin 6 West Allis Hale 0
Pitching, defense, and timely hitting led to the Sabers 6th shutout of the season in the WIAA regional final against Hale. Ryan Keesler, Joe Turco, and Mitch Alba combined for 12 strikeouts and limited the Huskies to only 3 hits. Bryce Miller led all hitters with 2 hits, including his team leading 3rd home run. He also drove in 2 and threw out a runner trying to steal to end the game. Joe Turco and Brett Spaulding also contributed with key run scoring hits. Outstanding defensive plays were turned in by Nick Aide and Mitch Alba. The win advances the Sabers to the South Milwaukee sectional on June 4th.

Franklin 2 West Allis Central 7
The Sabers season came to an abrupt end when the Bulldogs eliminated the Sabers in the sectional semi-final game. Central's pitching, strong defense, and timely hitting was too much for the Sabers. The Sabers did get 9 hits and squared up on a number of balls that were hit, but couldn't stop the Bulldogs from scoring. The Bulldogs scored in 4 of the 7 innings. Spenser Kent and Bryce Miller led the Sabers with 2 hits each. Mitch Alba hit the ball well all 4 times, but got only 1 hit for his effort. Miller picked 3 runners off base and was voted team Tournament MVP by the coaching staff. In the 2 tournament games he collected 4 hits, including his 3rd homer of the season, drove in 2, and recorded 5 defensive gems.
